FAQ
How do I know if I’m pregnant?
If you’re experiencing common pregnancy symptoms, you might be pregnant… or you might not be. The same symptoms for pregnancy can be shared with other health conditions, so pregnancy testing remains the most accurate method for finding out for sure.
Pregnancy testing will tell you if you’re pregnant by identifying the presence of a hormone only found during pregnancy through either your urine or blood. At our medical clinic, we offer no-cost pregnancy testing and ultrasounds so that you will know with certainty.
Why do I need an ultrasound if I already have a positive pregnancy test?
Pregnancy confirmation often includes an ultrasound along with pregnancy testing.
This is because an ultrasound scan reveals details that a pregnancy test cannot. A scan will tell you where your pregnancy is located (not ectopic) and if it’s progressing as normal. It can also tell you how far along you are (pregnancy gestation). These facts will identify your available options.
How much will my appointment cost?
Thanks to our donors, your appointment will not cost you anything. All of our appointments are 100% free and completely confidential. You never need to worry about your insurance status or how to pay for an appointment.
However, one note about STI testing costs. While the office visit, specimen collection, and treatment from a licensed provider are all free of charge, we do ask for payment to cover lab fees. This is a one-time fee of $52.
Can I be pregnant and have an STI?
It is definitely possible to be pregnant with an STI. That’s why we offer STI testing and treatment.
Whether you’re currently pregnant, want to become pregnant, or are not pregnant, STI testing is critical to taking care of your long-term health and well-being. It will also prevent the spread of an STI from parent to infant or partner to partner.
Will my insurance company know about my appointment?
No, because our services are free of charge, your insurance company will not know about your appointment. We take the privacy of your health information extremely seriously and will not share any details of your appointment.
What if I don’t know my next steps?
If you’re unsure of your next steps, it’s okay. We’re here to walk alongside you as you evaluate the pros and cons of each pregnancy option.
Keep in mind results of an ultrasound could also guide the next steps, so make sure to schedule one even if you’re considering abortion. It will help protect your health and safety.
